Hleb Disappointed With His Barcelona Showing So Far

Former Arsenal man, Aliaksandr Hleb has admitted that he has not been happy with his performances at Barcelona so far, but that he needs confidence...

Barcelona winger, Aliaksandr Hleb has been critical of his recent performances at the Spanish club today.

The former Arsenal player has failed to impress since joining last summer, and today he revealed he has not been pleased with himself.

"I am not doing as well as I would like, evidently I would like to play more and to play better. I am not happy with myself," he told Marca.

One of the criticisms that has been labelled at the player, aside from his play, is his failure to learn Spanish, and questions have been asked about whether this has slowed his integration into the side.

Speaking in English today though, the winger denied this was the problem, and admitted he needs to learn, but that Spanish is hard to pick up.

"My adaptation into the team is going very well. It is true that I have to improve my Spanish, but I understand all the instructions and everything that is said on the pitch. I do not have problems with that, but privately, I should improve my Spanish," he mused.

Inevitably, Hleb's early months have been compared to those of Thierry Henry, when he failed to settle in well in the team.

The winger acknowledged his team-mates problems today, and said he does need some confidence at the moment.

"Thierry is playing very well now, he is scoring goals, and that is important for him and for the team. It has not been easy for him either though, because he is playing in a different position to that which he played at Arsenal," he declared.

Hleb also spoke briefly about the Copa Del Rey match with Espanyol this week, admitting it will be tough, but that he expects Barcelona to win for the fans.
